Okay, I've been taught to write down everything even if it doesn't make sense to you now, it may come to you later. So here goes: Let me know how I did. Then I can give you what needs to be done next. I did release Depression at age 5 for Luna, that was the first trapped emotion that came up that needed to be released right now.
She is skittish, untrusting, unsure of herself. Very guarded, worried all the time. Constantly looking around for the next scary thing. A loner. Does not trust people- I asked why and was told "I'm scared" me: at what? Luna: Just scared.
She likes the other horses but not Sammy (that name just popped in????) I saw a black and white shepherd looking dog hanging around and I asked if that was his friend and got "he's nice"...
I asked him what was wrong and got "What do you want from me?" almost in a resentful tone, like not sure what's expected of her.
I asked if she liked to be ridden and got no reaction. Just stood there looking at me like Yes and No! Like she didn't know how to answer that.
As I was finally getting to pet her (after much coaxing) Asked if she would like for me to help her and got "with what?", I asked would you like to not be scared anymore and she put her head around toward me and nuzzled me. I took that as a yes.
Shes very emotional but is sweet natured and wants help.
Later that week I went out to meet Luna at her home. I met with her owner and I showed her a way of using the clicker and treats to gain their trust. Within minutes I had Luna following me and touching my target. In the beginning you couldn't hold anything up to her without her shying away from it as if you were going to hit her with it. I was able to lead her around her huge stall just by having her follow my target. When she touched it, I clicked and gave her a treat. Pretty soon she was reaching for the target. Once the owner saw this she started using the treats and clicker for picking up her hooves, brushing her, feeding her and soon found that she responded to whatever she wanted with ease. It was such a reward to see this very frightened horse come alive after only a few short minutes of clicker training, love and patience. It's a great way of showing the horse what you ant from them.
By releasing Luna's trapped emotions made it easier to understand how she was feeling and what was keeping her in her own private emotional prison.
