Dowzer

What a ham-Dowzer

Okay, here goes.

When I asked Dowzer if he'd talk to me he was so excited and said, yes, yes, yes.  (never had that kind of response before)  He was wiggling and wiggling (whole body was wiggling).  He is quite the lover and loves to be petted and fussed over.  I petted him all over and he loved it.  Couldn't get enough of it.  He has a LOT of energy.  But happy energy.  He has so much energy I couldn't get him to pay attention to what I had to say.  Overly excited.  He finally settled down enough for me to ask him some questions.

I asked him what was his favorite toy and I got a picture of a rag toy (like a rope with a knot) and a small squeak toy in shape of a football???? I couldn't get a clear picture because he has a lot of toys. I did see that he likes to chew on something until he has it shredded.  Like a conquer.  I asked him why he kept chewing on the furniture, especially the couch and got the impression it was just there and he was bored.  So bored he had to do something to get rid of the pent up energy inside.  I sense he's not allowed on top of the couch but I did see him sitting in his dads (your son) lap in a chair.  He really likes that.  If he doesn't do that -he would really like to do that.  LOL  I saw him laying flat on his tummy, back legs spread out and his head in between his two front legs, head on the ground looking up with those eyes.  Wagging his tail.  He told me that this was his "I can get anything I want pose".  It makes his dad smile.  He was quite comical looking up with those eyes and wagging his tail.

Loves going outside, wants to go on runs ( I suggested walks and he said- no-runs)  Not sure if your son takes him on runs or not but might be a great way to get all that energy out.  I was wondering if he had one of those bones that you can fill with treats to make him work at to give him something to conquer. Give him a job.. He does like feeling like he's achieved something. Its like when he sees he's finally shredded whatever it is he feels like he conquered it.   AND he's teething so he needs to chew on something.  (try old socks-LOL)

I asked him if he played fetch and he cocked his head and looked at me like he wasn't sure what I meant.  I told him chasing a ball which meant a lot of running and he seemed to like that.  Not sure if he plays fetch or even knows how, never really got a good answer.

I really enjoyed talking to Dowzer, what a character.  I feel like he's very intelligent and just needs guidance and he's going to turn out to be a great partner.
